Capital Asset Management Program

The Capital Asset Management Program (CAMP) system provides tools for planning, coordinating, and scheduling capital improvements. CAMP offers users the unique ability to view capital improvements from both a scheduling perspective and a spatial perspective. Using CAMP, you can detect potential overlaps or conflicts and make more efficient decisions about capital spending.

Using the CAMP system, you can:

  • View the existing capital improvement plan (CIP) and details on each improvement, including funding source, cash flow, and scheduling information.
  • Propose new improvements or changes to existing improvements.
  • Rate the importance of each improvement based on predetermined criteria, set funding limits, and then generate a new schedule.
  • Test alternative schedule options.

The CAMP system consists of three components that interact with each other within the context of the CAMP user interface. These components are:

CIP Database - This database contains all data on scheduled capital improvements. It is located on a server and accessed via a network.

CAMP Navigator - Allows you to view improvements in the CIP database in a hierarchical display. You can also create and edit improvements within the Navigator, including assigning funding sources, funding limits, and cash flow.

CAMP Map View - Map View gives you a detailed spatial perspective of the service area, including wastewater system facilities, water system facilities, pressure zones, and other pertinent features.
