Records Management System Application

WESTON developed a record management system in Lotus Notes for a large municipal sanitation department to support their efforts in tracking, managing, storing, and viewing technical documents relating to the city's landfills.
System features include:

Project Tracking

The system enables the city to manage contracts, projects, and contractors. Project managers use the system to track multi-million dollar engineering and environmental budgets, activities, and status for the city's landfills.

Document Management

The system allows the city to manage and access both internal and external documents for full text search and retrieval. The system takes full advantage of the capability of Notes to access and index both internal and external documents for full text search and retrieval.

Drawing Management

The system manages hundreds of design and "As-Built" CAD drawings generated each year by city contractors. The system is fully integrated with the AutoCAD reviewing tool. The system is designed to load and manage drawings as documents and to build from the drawings a spatial database for a GeoSQL-based GIS system. The drawings are securely managed through their lifecycle and the cost of data maintenance is minimized

Landfill Engineering Workbench

The objective of the landfill engineering workbench is to provide the city and their contractors access to all environmental and engineering data generated at the landfills. The system is based on the GeoSQL GIS system with access to AutoCAD drawings and Oracle database- and Lotus Notes-based documents and drawings.

The figure below is an example of the Document Management System user interface.
