Zoning Application

WESTON developed a scalable internet-based GIS application to display and query the Parcel, Zoning and Overlay District information for a large municipality.  It provides the decision makers in different City departments access to zoning and overlay districts for the whole City via the City’s Intranet.  The application was developed using ESRI’s ArcView, Avenue programming language, and Internet Map Server.  Additional functionality was added using the Java programming language.

The  figure below displays a Netscape Navigator window running the Zoning GIS application.   The application is showing color-coded parcels and street names for a small area of the city.  The bottom portion displays the results of an on-screen query of a specific parcel.
